About Alexander

Alexander is supporting the next generation of Innovate UK EDGE IP advisers and providing them and their high growth business clients with IP support and delivery tools, primarily to ensure that IP is recognised and delivers value for business growth and investment, Also Prince’s Trust Business Mentor.

Over the years he has been supporting SMEs with the convergence of DLT and AI/ML primarily for the IP space. He has in excess of twenty years’ experience in advising and supporting those engaged in R&D, SMEs and Academia on the identification, protection, valuation and exploitation of the Intellectual and Industrial Property (IIP) arising from their research and day to day business activities.

In 1998 he joined the team running the pilot project IPR-Helpdesk for the ECs DG Enterprise, first as PR/Communications Manager and later as Project Manager for QMIPRI one of the project partners.

Over the years he has focussed upon raising awareness of the importance of identification, protection and monetisation of Intellectual and Industrial Property assets across a wide range of sectors. More recently he has been exploring the potential of blockchain and AI for the registration, protection and exploitation of IIP.

Having supported the current European IP Helpdesk service  http://www.iprhelpdesk.eu/ as Senior IP Policy Analyst, Editorial Quality Manager and a member of their Senior Advisory Board, he is engaged as a business mentor for the Prince’s Trust (https://www.princestrust.org.uk ) in the UK, on the advisory boards and supporting a number of SMEs and start-ups across the EU and beyond, including LuxTag in Malaysia (https://LuxTag.io ), IPwe in France (https://IPwe.com ), Quantum Base in the UK (https://quantumbase.com ), Suzugia AI https://suzugia-ai.com and Custodian Solutions also in the UK (https://custodiansolutions.com) and Zebi in India (https://zebi.io).

Alexander has a BA Hons in Politics from the University of Hull and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from NYU in IP, Innovation and Information Tech (Intellectual property law, information technology, innovation, IT, electronic commerce, antitrust and competition policy).
