Catherine Escobedo Lima, Peru About Catherine Catherine is a licensed Peruvian attorney, specializing in Intellectual Property Law, with more than twelve (12) years of experience as a practitioner in the private sector and the International Cooperation field, working with the United States Agency for International Development for the Andean Region (Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia and Peru). She is currently the Head of the Litigation Area of the specialized Peruvian law firm, BARLAW – Barrera y Asociados. Catherine is an LL.M graduated from the University of California – Berkeley, with certification in Law & Technology. Catherine also has: – post graduated studies in Fashion Law at the Fashion Law Institute of Fordam University; – US Intellectual Property Law at Standford Law School; – Copyright Law at Universidad Complutense of Madrid; and, – various refresher courses at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); and, the National Institute for the Defense of Free Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI). She graduated JD at Universidad de Lima where she was valedictorian. She is affiliated to the Lima Bar Association, the Peruvian Industrial Property and Author’s Rights Association (APPI), the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), among other international associations. Catherine is also a member of the Right of Publicity Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Fashion Law Committee in the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property – ASIPI and the Intellectual Property Committee of the Peruvian American Chamber (AMCHAM).
